Policies
CANCELLATION:
If a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled, this must be communicated at least 24 hours PRIOR to the scheduled time. Communication includes a text message, phone call, or email to your therapist. If you do not notify your therapist at least 24 hours prior to the session start time, the session rate is still due in full. This is because this time could not be offered to another client. Exceptions to this include true emergencies that preclude session attendance.
RATES:
The current session rate is $215 for individuals, couples, and coaching clients. Sessions are 50 minutes.
I offer a sliding scale if this rate is out of reach for your budget. There are two sliding scale methods depending on your income type. The sliding scale creates the opportunity to serve as many clients as possible. Please be honest about your current circumstances and inform me of changes in earnings so we can adjust the fee as needed.
For clients with consistent, traditional income, the fee is based on the total combined household income for all adult earners. For example, if your yearly household income is $95k, then the session fee will be $95, or if your yearly household income is $175k, the session fee will be $175.
For clients with less consistent income, like students, retirees, or those living off investments, annuities, or other non-traditional means, we can collaborate together to determine the appropriate session rate, typically this fee falls between $125 and $215 per session.
Session fees are subject to increase on an annual basis. My fees go up $5 to $10 each year. I will inform you when a fee raise is approaching, typically this is in the beginning of August.
Phone calls/voicemails, emails, and text messages requiring fewer than 10 minutes of my time are free. Any time over 10 minutes will be subject to billing on a prorated basis.
A Good Faith estimate can be provided upon request.
PAYMENT:
Payment methods include Venmo, Zelle, HSA and credit/debit cards. A small processing fee applies for card use.
All clients must provide a credit card to be kept on file. The card on file will not be charged unless that is the clients’ chosen payment method, or the client does not pay for a session within 7 days.
If payment is not received at the time of service, clients will receive a reminder via text message. If payment has not been received within 7-days of a session, and no other arrangement has been agreed upon and documented, then the credit card on file will be charged including the processing fee.
LEGAL:
We do not go to court. The starting fee for preparing documents related to a client's court case is double the client's session fee but no less than $125 per hour.
MANDATED REPORTING:
Duty to Warn and Protect - When a client discloses intentions or a plan to harm another person, the mental health professional is required to warn the intended victim and report this information to legal authorities. In cases in which the client discloses or implies a plan for suicide, the mental health professional is required to notify legal authorities and make reasonable attempts to notify the family of the client.
Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults - If a client states or suggests that he or she is abusing a child (or vulnerable adult) or has recently abused a child (or vulnerable adult), or a child (or vulnerable adult) is in danger of abuse, the mental health professional is required to report this information to the appropriate social service and/or legal authorities.
Prenatal Exposure to Controlled Substances - Mental Health care professionals are required to report admitted prenatal exposure to controlled substances that are potentially harmful.
Minors/Guardianship - Parents or legal guardians of non-emancipated minor clients have the right to access the clients’ records.
